The Chargers are practicing Wednesday without Ryan Mathews and Jared Gaither. Gaither (groin) was inactive against the Bucs last Sunday. Mathews, whose absence will be addressed after practice, has played through a sore ankle in recent games. Against the Bucs, he had 17 carries for 54 yards (3.2) and five catches for 22 yards.
