    Buffalo Sabres forward Paul Gaustad will miss the first few weeks of the regular season after he underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb on Monday.He is expected to be out at least 3-4 weeks.Last season, the Fargo, North Dakota native scored 10 goals and added 26 assists for 36 points in 82 games.
