Add defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley to the list of New Orleans Saints players who have restructured their contracts to create salary-cap space in 2013, according to a league source. Like the other Saints who have reworked their deals this offseason, Bunkley will not take any form of pay cut. He simply converted base salary into signing bonus so that the Saints can spread out the salary-cap hit over the final four years of his contract. Bunkley had been scheduled to count $4.7 million against the salary cap. According to ESPN, Bunkley's new deal drops his cap number to $2.5 million in 2013. Source: The Times-Picayune
I still think they are gearing up for a Super Bowl run for the next 5 years. That is when the majority of the contracts will be up. Do you know anything about the corner they just signed from Pittsburgh Keenan Lewis?
just listened to an interview with him on wwl. he is a local guy who's dream was to play for the Saints. He said he left about 1.5 million a year on the table to come to NO. Said sometimes money ain't everything. Had like 28 pass defensed last season.
