With the 2010 NFL season fast approaching, New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is already laying down the gauntlet. In an interview with USA Today, Williams vowed to send a message to NFL offenses and it starts with Vikings quarterback Brett Favre. "We have to do better in sending messages to every offense about how physical it's going to be when they play us," Williams says. "Those messages are out there, starting with No. 4 (Favre)." Pro Bowl middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma went on to add, "Gregg stresses turnovers because they take away a team's will, especially when you're talking about the top tier of talents. That's the worst thing you can do to a team, take the ball away from their best guy. It crushes that whole team."

Man I miss Williams being here, sucks that he had to talk crap about Snyder, otherwise he'd most likely be our coach today, unless he failed.

Either way, that man is a genius with the defense.

Lol. The same QB .. that holds the key to the Vikings season. you're right, they did a good job of beating up that 40-year old QB. But yeah, as a Saints fan..I hate seeing Williams talk like this, when our defense still needs work after last season. Wish they'd let the talking be done on the field, not in the press.

He coaches defense like it used to be played. Only thing is that other teams will target Brees for the same treatment. But I like the style he teaches.
