On Saturday, the Saints announced they had hired Ryan as their new defensive coordinator, ending his month-long unemployment. Later Saturday, another interesting Ryan-related report surfaced when NFL.com senior writer Andy Fenelon tweeted that the Saints had included language in Ryan's contract that said he could not speak to the media unless it was first approved by team VP of Communications Greg Bensel. But Bensel took to his own Twitter account Sunday to refute the report. "Report that Rob Ryan needs to get my OK before speaking to media is 100% false," Bensel wrote. "He like all of our coaches, follow [normal] league media rules." Ryan, much like his brother Rex, has been known to speak his mind in the past. In fact, he introduced himself to Cowboys fans by opening his first training camp with the team in 2011 by calling out the Eagles as the "all-hype team." Source: Dallas Morning News
