Darren Sharper has played 14 seasons in the NFL. Last year Sharper struggled after having offseason knee surgery. He missed the first six games after being placed on PUP, Malcolm Jenkins took over his spot at free safety. Sharper still wants to play this season. "It is something I definitely don't have to do," Sharper told John DeShazier of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "I want to. I want to keep playing football. After last season, I really was very frustrated with how my season was and how our season went," he said. "If that was going to be my last year in the league, I didn't want it to go like that, in terms of being frustrated all year and not playing like myself. I want to show how healthy I am this year and play like I'm used to playing."

I really would like to see Sharper stick around for one more season. I still think he has some gas left in the tank and can at least be a very valuable back-up.

He was injured most of last season so give him one more year and see what he can do.

Sharper was amazing during the Super Bowl run. I still remember watching every game expecting at least one pick six from him. He was essentially the heart and soul of the D too.

We need to keep him. I love D Sharp and even if hes a backup he'd be a great mentor to some of our younger players too.

Definitely hope we keep him. He's a leader in that defense, and definitely can be used at full health.
