    New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his stellar performance in the Saints' 31-24 victory over the San Diego Chargers in Week 5. Brees threw for 370 yards with four touchdown passes and one interception.

    In the process, Brees also broke Johnny Unitas' record with touchdown passes in 48 straight games.
