Saints QB Drew Brees Named Super Bowl MVP

Saints QB Drew Brees was selected as MVP of Super Bowl XLIV after leading his team to a 31-17 win over the Colts, and the first NFL title in franchise history. Brees completed 32 of 39 passes for 288 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including a two yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Shockey in the fourth quarter to give the Saints the lead for the first time. The Saints trailed the Colts 10-0 in the first quarter and tied the Redskins (Super Bowl XXII) for the largest rally in Super Bowl history.

I thought about this for a second, but then I decided that the QB guy deserved it.

 

I can not think of a single play where I said to my self. WOW Brees is good.
I am not saying he played bad. I am just saying that without Tracey Porters INT and Lance Moores freak catch on 2 down conversion you would not even be able to argue that he was the better of the two QBs. IMO the MVP is meaningless in a game where the game was so clearly won based on the size of the winning coaches balls.

 

If you go by that logic you should be giving it to Pierre Thomas not Tracy Porter. Porter had one good play...great. Thomas was a beast when he got his hands on the ball.

Brees deserved it.

 

Tracy Porter? Seriously, yeah one play, he wasn't exactly playing like a stud before that. Brees was simply outstanding and without any doubt whatsoever, was the MVP.

 

Congrats to all the Saints fans! Brees was near perfect!

 

No way tracy porter should get it the ball was thrown right at him not like it was a crazy interception

 

i was torn between brees and thomas. happy either way.....but thomas is a freaking beast. talk about weaving through traffic. :icon_eek:
