If injured Saints running back Pierre Thomas cannot play against the Panthers then veteran running back Ladell Betts is expected to become the featured back in his absence."I've been given a few more reps in practice this week, so we'll see what happens,'' Betts said. "It's important to me and it's important for this team that I know what I'm doing. I don't want to be the weak link. I don't want this offense to not be able to run the plays that they normally run just because I'm in there if I have to play. I pride myself on knowing everything that's in the playbook. That way we can run the offense the way they're used to running it. I pride myself on being focused anyway and trying to learn what I need to do. For me, it's just a matter of dotting the 'I's' and crossing the 'T's,' and making sure I'm at where I'm supposed to be and know exactly what I need to do.''
