New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas has been ruled out for Sunday’s game at Tampa, and it doesn’t sound like his return is imminent. This will be the third consecutive game Thomas has missed, and according to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune the timetable for a comeback is four to six weeks. We’re guessing it’s closer to six than four given Thomas’ comments. Thomas said his ankle is “starting to look like a normal ankle again." Per the report, Thomas has been running in a pool and he hopes to get out of the water and on to the ground next week. “Now I'm in the process of seeing where the strength is at," Thomas told Triplett. And he wonders why he didn't get the big contract. All the heart in the world isn't making the body heal any faster. One of the worries was if he could be the bell cow and this is not helping his cause.
