Saints tight end Jimmy Graham suffered a back injury during practice Wednesday, giving his team a scare, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Graham landed hard on his back after making a touchdown grab. He found the time to jump up and spike the ball in celebration, before falling in pain on the sideline. Interim coach Joe Vitt said he doesn't believe the injury to be serious, however, and quarterback Drew Brees seconded that opinion. "He's fine. He's fine. ... If it was anything, I'd have a report from the trainers," Vitt said immediately after practice. Source: CBSSports
If he could jump up and make his dunk, then probably not too bad. Unless him doing that pulled something, or strained something. Definitely not a player we need injured.
Yeah. He takes some nasty bumps. Always landing on his back. He's big, and it may be awkward but he needs to take those steps to do it.
Yeah sometimes those big guys put themselves in vulnerable positions, I always remember Kevin Boss not putting his shoulder down and getting lit up.
