  1. Becoming the first NFL team with a losing record to win its division, the Seattle Seahawks shut down the St. Louis Rams 16-6 to clinch the NFC West title and earn a spot in the playoffs. The 7-9 Seahawks will host the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in the first round of the playoffs on Jan. 8 (on NBC at 4:30 p.m. ET). Filling in for injured starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, Charlie Whitehurst threw for 192 yards and one touchdown in the win, including going 5-for-5 for 85 yards on Seattle's opening scoring drive. Rookie of the Year candidate Sam Bradford couldn't lead the Rams to their first postseason appearance since 2004. The Rams compiled a 7-9 record this season, a marked improvement from their 1-15 record last year.
