The 49ers will face a Seahawks defense missing two would-be starters: defensive end Chris Clemons and cornerback Brandon Browner. Michael Bennett will start at right defensive end in place of Clemons. Walter Thurmond will start again in place of Browner, with Byron Maxwell the No. 3 cornerback. Browner, who has a hamstring injury, tweeted two hours before the game: “Lord knows I did everything in my power to get ready, slept with machines to my leg. I do know the team is ready tho.†Also out for the Seahawks are safety Jeron Johnson, running back Christine Michael, tackles Michael Bowie and Alvin Bailey and defensive tackle Jordan Hill.
