Appearing on 710 Seattle Radio on Thursday, ESPN's John Clayton said that the Seahawks have offered free agent Matt Hasselbeck a one-year, $7 million contract. Clayton was asked about the possibility of the Titans signing Hasselbeck, as has been heavily speculated in the national media. He estimated that No. 8 pick Jake Locker will be making $7-8 million in his first season. "(The Titans) are not gonna offer $7 million -- which is what Hasselbeck's been offered (by Seattle) -- and then have $14 million tied up in the quarterback position, and then really just have Matt as a transitional guy. ... I think Kerry Collins would be willing to accept $3, 4 or 5 million." Clayton still believes the Seahawks will re-sign Hasselbeck. Source: 710 ESPN Seattle
No freaking way they could be that desperate. might as well pick up T. Pryor in the 1st rd of the Sup. Draft.
You guys act like 7 mil for a starting quarterback is some ridiculous number. That's probably middle of the pack or possibly lower than the average salary of starting QBs. The guy wants a minimum of 2 years. I can tell you right now that Zona would be willing to give him at least two years averaging 7 mil or more.
