The Seattle Seahawks officially placed first-round offensive tackle James carpenter on injured reserve on Thursday. Carpenter tore the ACL in his left knee during a pass-rush drill in a practice last week, ending his rookie season after nine starts -- one at left guard and the last eight at right tackle. Replacing Carpenter on the 53-man roster is Allen Barbre, a 2007 fourth-round pick out of Missouri Southern State by the Green Bay Packers. Barbre started seven of 25 games for the Packers from 2007-09 before joining the Seahawks last season, appearing in three games before he released and signed by the Miami Dolphins.
