On Sunday Chris Mortensen of ESPN reported that Russell Wilson's agent contacted the Seahawks and asked for his rookie contract to be redone in light of his play this year. The CBA prohibits restructuring a rookie deal until the third year of the contract. Buss Cook, the agent for Wilson, denied Mortensen's report by saying "I know you can’t do that yet." Wilson told Peter King of Sports Illustrated, "I speak for myself. I never demanded or asked for a restructured contract." Source: The Redzone
Anyone who has paid any attention to this kid this year would know that he wouldn't have asked for a new contract.
i can't imagine an agent wouldn't know about the new CBA contract restrictions ........ mort must have just made this up entirely.
