The Seahawks have informed offensive lineman Stacy Andrews that they intend to release him later this week. Andrews was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles last year eight days before the regular-season began. The Seahawks intended for him to play right tackle, but an injury to Max Unger forced him into a role as the starting left guard. Andrews was scheduled to make more than $5 million this season. Coach Pete Carroll indicated after the season that Seattle saw him as more of a natural tackle as opposed to guard. Seattle drafted James Carpenter of Alabama in the first round of last April's draft, and indicated afterward he would be the starter. Source: Seattle Times
