Serena Williams is not passionate about the game she has dominated for so long, but not about to leave it, the 13-time Grand Slam winner said Monday, according to TennisNow.com. "I mean, I don't love tennis today, but I'm here, and I can't live without it ... so I'm still here and I don't want to go anywhere any time soon," Williams said after her first-round win at the Brisbane International, according to TennisNow.com. "It's not that I've fallen out of love; I've actually never liked sports, and I never understood how I became an athlete," she said, according to the website. "I don't like working out; I don't like anything that has to do with working physically."

It's just like Agassi said in his book. None of the pro's really love the game of tennis.

Uhm, I wouldn't want to be doing anything else as a job right now other than what I do and I'm pretty passionate about it. And seriously, these guys love their job!

Look at Serena, everyone knows she could have upwards of 20 slams if she didnt just disappear from the planet or stop trying half the time. She could easily have 20. But she doesnt play hard all the time, and she takes time off alot.

If this comes as a surprise to anyone, than they dont watch tennis

how many atheletes feel that way. would they really play if they didn't make so much money. The answer would be no. Back in the day players played for the love of the game. Now it is more about the money. Used to you had to have talent to play. Now it is all about speed and strength. And that is in most sports.

i think in most cases athletes that do go pro started off loving the sport they excel in but after a while of being in the "business" it becomes a job and that's what bums people out.

you will have those who do love the game and would play the game regardless of the money involved. But I still believe that more than half of all players are in it for the money. And on the surface that isn't that bad. But mostly in football you have to love the game cause of the punishment you take not only in the game but during practice. I don't have a link but I remember hearing a former player talking about lots of teammates not giving all they had cause they was in it to get paid and they didn't care about football.
