"Milwaukee's postseason hopes ended Sunday, and so did the Ben Sheets era with the Brewers. Sheets, a first-round draft pick of the Brewers and 10th player taken overall in 1999, is the senior member of the Brewers roster, having spent the past eight seasons in the big leagues. The tenure is about to end.

    When he's healthy, he's a beast.

I'd take a chance on the guy, depending on the market. He's not worth big money just because of his injury problems but he's a solid #2 when he's healthy.

    Crowned Doesn't give a shit.

A fresh start would probably be good for him, Hes going to dominate wherever he goes, as long as hes healthy of course.

His injury problems are obviously going to knock his price down, but when we're talking about a market in which Kyle Lohse and Carlos Silva are commanding 10 mil a year, he will be in no way cheap.

IMO, if you're going after a pitcher this year in FA, you go all-out and get CC or you sign Derek Lowe. With those two, you know what you're getting. Sheets and Dempster had great years, but why throw all that money at an injury prone player and a possible fluke?

I'd like to say Texas should sign him but all pitchers get rocked down here. We haven't had a good pitcher for some time now. Volquez we got rid of cause he wasn't fully developed, Danks we unloaded for McCarthy because McCarthy was apparently more MLB ready lol. I guess we will probably see some Diamond next year and Hurley will be in the rotation.

I don't think dempster is a "fluke", but he won't have the same kind of numbers next year. Besides the cubs are used to using injury prone pitchers.

i want lowe, i screamed for him when he left boston but of course ed wade is a moron and didnt think a sinker ball pitcher would be a good fit for CBP. assuming we don't re-sign burrell i'd hope we go after this guy. a 1-2-3 of hamels, lowe and myers would be deadly followed by blanton and whoever else.

as far sheets though, again, too many injury issues for me and like you said the money he'll be able to command in this upcoming market is going to be too much for him especially if he wants a long term deal.
