Smoot Listed as Questionable

Still nursing a hamstring injury, cornerback Fred Smoot said he expects to play in this Sunday's game against the New York Giants but he is listed as questionable.

Smoot was limited in practice for the second consecutive day on Friday.

Asked his status after Friday's practice, Smoot replied: "I'll be there. I'm playing."

Smoot said as much last week, when he was also listed as questionable for the Eagles game. The team opted to deactivate Smoot.

Carlos Rogers and Shawn Springs would likely start at cornerback, with David Macklin and Leigh Torrence serving in nickel and dime packages.

Safety Vernon Fox is also listed as questionable due to a groin injury. Fox was limited in practice this week.

Defensive end Phillip Daniels, who also sat out the Eagles game, is listed as probable for the Giants game.

Daniels has been cautious with a foot injury suffered in the Redskins' Week 1 win over the Miami Dolphins.

"I feel good," he said after Friday's practice. "I feel confident."

I still dont understand him startoin over springs. springs is way better and smoot or rogers should be nickel.
