Another Redskins first: a small snake was loose in the locker room today. A couple of players were frightened by the reptile which was soon escorted out of the building by offensive tackle Stephon Heyer. Snake loose in locker room - Redskins 360 - Washington Times
I just can't imagine some rough tough macho image football players being afraid of a small snake. :icon_rolleyes: Now if it was a 25' python....:icon_eek:
A guy at work is deathly afraid of snakes. I keep giving him crap about it telling him the darn things have no arms or legs what the hell is it going to do to you? Then a couple months ago on top of a breaker panel he was going to check the breaker and low and behold there was a 10" long DEAD garder snake on it. He ran away, I didn't know what the hell was going on. he said there's a snake on the breaker panel. I went and looked and sure enough a dead dried up snake that you could snap in half like a tooth pick. I starterd laughing telling him it was dead and he said he didn't care. So I picked it up and started walking towards him. He again took off running like a big chicken. I was laughing so friggin hard my stomach was hurting and tears were coming out my eyes. WTF?
I don't know if I'm more afraid or just disgusted. The things just freak me out...a king cobra...that crap is just nasty...
Here's one I caught last summer. It was in the middle of the road with it's nose bleeding slightly. If I remember correctly it was 45" long. I nursed it back to health then let it go a couple weeks later. It's a fox snake.
Yes it was pretty pissed off when I was trying to catch it. Hissing and trying like hell to bite me. But I'm experienced with snakes so to speak. Been catching them since I was a kid. Yes I've been bitten before, but nothing serious.
I don't think I'd be able to stand a big snake, but I've messed around with corn snakes before. They're pretty awesome. Until they start trying to run away because they can feel your body heat. LOL
