The middle third of the Solider Field playing surface has been re-sodded for Sunday’s game between the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs. A team spokesman said the new turf was installed within the past week after the Prep Bowl was played Nov. 25 at the stadium. The spokesman said the game was originally supposed to be played elsewhere, but it was moved to Soldier Field. The playing surface was controversial during training camp when a practice at the stadium was cancelled because the surface was not safe. The Bears and Chicago Park District, which owns and operates the stadium, agreed to work more closely in field maintenance. Source: Chicago Tribune
