Per a league source, some Vikings believe that Tarvaris Jackson should be the starter, based on Jackson's performance during offseason workouts. Previously, there have been a few indications that some were hesistant to welcome Favre with open arms. Defensive end Ray Edwards has said that Favre will have to drop the "prima donna act," and linebacker Chad Greenway has questioned "where [Favre's] loyalties lie."

even if Favre stays retired, Sage is much better than T-Jack

What do you mean "Favre stays retired". I don't understand that concept :icon_eek:

Some fans want Jackson to start also - although those same fans would also be down for seeing Favre benched around week 9 in favour of Jackson or Rosenfals.

Tarvaris Jackson: The black Alex Smith. If some vikes prefer him over a 40 year old guy (or whatever The Icon's age is), then I question their mental health.

T-Jack, Favre..........I really don't see any appreciable difference between the two guys right now. I'd take Sage over both of them. Sage is the guy getting screwed over here if the Vikings make the brainless decision to actually sign Favre.

    Wow.

T-Jack wasn't ready to start when he came in, sure, but look at the circumstances he's come from. He had NO QB's coach, and barely had an OC at ASU, he had to basically teach himself. When he got to the NFL, he still had to work on his mechanics, he has spent the past two seasons working on such. Gus stepped in and gave him a reality check, and he came out firing at the end of last season. He got pressured by a heavy Philly D, but he's young and going to take lumps

Do you people honestly expect a 2nd round pick from ALABAMA STATE to come in and immediately begin tearing up the league? If Childress would give the kid consistent starts then I'm sure he could take hte Vikes somewhere.

    Jackson > Sage
I have a hard time believing that people honestly thing Sage Rosenfels is a more capable QB than T-Jack. The man showed he can single handedly choke a game away.

Once Favre's arm gives out around Week 11, they're going to be calling for his head.

Start T-Jack, and KEEP him in, he will learn, you will go far.

I don't recall Smith having but two games of moderate success. Tarvaris has had several good games, most coming at the end of last season, but good games nonetheless. If you watch him in action those last three or four games of 08 he had a different swagger about him. He was a bit more poise (save for Philly) and seemed like he knew what he was doing. I don't think I could say the game for Alex Smith.

Give Tarvaris a little more credit than that.
