Cardinals beat writer Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic does not expect the team to sign former Texans' running back Steve Slaton. Somers was just giving an answer to a Twitter question rather than reporting but it is somewhat surprising that the Cardinals would not at least bring Slaton in for a tryout given Beanie Wells' penchant for injury. Wells appears either unwilling or unable to play with pain and the back-up duo of Chester Taylor and Alfonso Smith did not get the job done in the Cards' loss to Seattle. LaRod Stephens-Howling is tentatively expected to return from injury this Sunday but he is not big enough to carry the load in Wells' absence. Source: The Red Zone
