Traffic offenses by themselves might not do harm to an NFL prospect's draft status, but that doesn't mean NFL clubs won't take note of the ticket Jadeveon Clowney received Saturday night for driving 110 mph in a 70-mph zone. The South Carolina star was stopped by the South Carolina Highway Patrol on Interstate 77, driving a Chrysler 300, at around 7:30 p.m. ET, according to wistv.com. The Gamecocks' star junior is expected to declare early eligibility for the 2014 NFL Draft in the coming weeks. NFL Media analyst Bucky Brooks, a former NFL scout, said Clowney's ticket won't go unnoticed. Source: NFL.com Everyone speeds on the roads but not everyone is as scrutinized as a NFL draftee. I think teams would be more interested in his possibly taking plays off than a speeding ticket.
If Houston gets the top pick do they go with Clowney? Can you imagine Clowney and Watt? or do they draft their QB? Big blow for Clowney but his talent alone will get him drafted in the top 5.
It's a traffic violation. Not like he was stopped and he was drinking and snorting coke off the steering wheel. He's a college kid that was speeding. If anything his draft stock should be hurt by him "taking plays off" more than this...
I'd also be more concerned with how Tiny Richardson has handled Clowney in the past...Tiny gave Clowney some tough battles...I think Clowney would wind up winning the "tale of the tape" though. But there were times when Richardson manhandled him.
His crappy production this season is a bigger concern than a freaking speeding ticket. If that was a character concern, then half the freaking EPL is a walking "locker room cancer".
