The Steelers have lost their first significant free agent as cornerback William Gay has signed with the Arizona Cardinals. Gay wrote on his Twitter account this morning that he is leaving for Arizona. Gay, a fifth-year veteran, came into his own in 2011, starting 15 regular-season games and tying for the team-lead in interceptions with two. Gay tied for second in passes defended with 13. His loss provides an opportunity for Keenan Lewis and second-year men Cortez Allen and Curtis Brown. Source: Pittsburgh Tribune Review
I'll miss him as the nickel. Loved him for that, but absolutely HATED him as a starter. Excited to see what the Law Firm of Lewis, Allen & Brown will do...
yep, if gay is your nickel back, you're fine. he's not spectacular ............ kind of a slow and steady type ......... won't break up a lot of passes, but is a decent tackler and won't get burned a whole lot.
