The Steelers agreed to terms with Sean Kugler to become their offensive line coach, according to a league source. Kugler was part of a Bills staff that has been allowed to interview for other jobs while the team searches for a new head coach. Pittsburgh, which had issues protecting the quarterback in recent years, fired offensive line coach Larry Zierlein after the season. Source: NFL.com
well, the bills o-line was bad this year under kugler but they are by far the youngest o-line in the league so maybe they feel he's good working with young guys so they can bring some young guys along ............. ?
this guy thought langston walker could play LT didnt he? jeez, im sure he can work wonders with urbik lol
The guy has his work cut out for him, that's for sure. The offensive line is clearly the weakest part of the Steeler's roster, with the possible exception of a Polamalu-less secondary.
Under Kugler the Bills gave up 46 sacks, fourth worst in the league, and gave up 103 quarterback hits. He's got the potential to be a disaster. The stint with Denver was unimpressive and he was a part of Matt Millen's restructuring... NOT IMPRESSED with Tomlin's hire here.
he really was in a bad situation last year though, im not crazy about the hire but i think hes got what it takes. hes been through a RB disaster, a bigger QB disaster, losing an all pro left tackle with no replacement and dealing with 2 rookies on the interior last year one of which broke his leg. cant blame him for that...maybe we will draft a legit LT and move colon to guard where he belongs
