They came at linebacker James Harrison in waves, and he flicked them aside as one might expect the NFL defensive player of the year to do. They were offers of money in trade for his appearance or his autograph or his endorsement. Yet, the two-time Steelers MVP was a hard sell, turning down "about 25, 30" such offers, according to agent Bill Parise. His reasoning: "James is James," Parise said. "James is not comfortable in a lot of those settings, and there's not a need to put him in them anymore." "I turned down a whole bunch of stuff," Harrison said. "Go here, do this and do that. I don't want to do nothing. I'm not interested, especially now, I don't really need it. "I'm happy with the contract I have. And the kind of money I would get from that versus what I'd have to do, I'd probably have to sit there and talk to people."

I think thats pretty cool, I'm sure he'll change it up after he retires like they all seem to. Did he ever make it to the White House?

As a person James Harrison kind of reminds me of Jack Lambert in the sense that all the talking he wants to do in public is his play on the field. I wouldn't be surprised if he shared Jack's hatred for Kickers/Punters as well lol.

Heh. And after his career has been over for a few years and the money starts drying up, I'm sure he will be wishing he took those gigs.

actually he got his CDL so he can be a truck driver like his dad after he retired....i think your underestimating how simple of a man harrison is.

So he would turn down a crapload of money for what, so he doesn't have to talk to people, I think people are confusing balls with stupidity.
