Steelers Looking At QB's Including Jeff Garcia As Replacement

The Pittsburgh Steelers are considering as many as six free agent quarterbacks as potential replacements for injured backup quarterback Charlie Batch, according to a league source, and one of them is veteran Jeff Garcia. Batch is slated to undergo wrist surgery. Another quarterback rumored to be on the Steelers' radar is Cleo Lemon.

Jeff Garcia sounds nice but they shouldnt forget about there 3 string guy!

 

for hecks sake they drafted dixon to be the backup, not all backups have to be old washed up hecks

 

Maybe they don't have the confidence in Dixon to pull things off at this point, especially with teams like Baltimore looming and us trying to make a push for post season play? I'd see if we could pry Lefty back but if not I'd go for Garcia. We know how well he can just slide in a win on teams.

I agree, move Dixon to 2 and pick up a 3rd string qb.

 

Isn't Ben going to miss next week? If so, it's pretty much a given that Garcia would be the man for the Steelers.

Dixon still doesn't have what it takes to win games at an NFL level. He's short armed, happy footed and a totally different player in game situations than he is in practices. Like I said before, he may be a future #2, but he needs time and reps...having said that, I'd rather see him than Cleo Lemon. Jeff Garcia...I'll give him a quarter or two...outside the WCO he blows but maybe Arians can cater to Garcia...yeah right...lol...

The conversation is moot because Ben will be back...he's no cat...lol...

Steelers don't run the WCO...lol...Garcia would blow.
