The Pittsburgh Steelers reached an agreement on Thursday to complete a deal which restructures the franchise's ownership. Under the terms of the agreement, Steelers chairman emeritus Dan Rooney and his son team president Art Rooney II will own a 30 percent interest to meet the league requirement on the equity interest of controlling ownership. In addition, 10 new minority owners are on board as shareholders: James Haslam III, the Paul family, Thomas Tull, Bruce Rauner, legendary former receiver John Stallworth, the Varischetti family, David Tepper, the Paul Sams family, Ben Statler and Mike Wilkins. "I am very pleased to welcome our new owners into the Steelers family," president Rooney said in a statement. "All of our partners worked to help structure this ownership transition in a way that allows for this franchise to continue to be successful on the field and in the community."
