If Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is charged following accusations of sexual assault, authorities are still investigating the March 12 incident that took place in Milledgeville Ga., his latest off-the-field troubles go to another level and probably to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's office. Under the league's player conduce policy, Goodell has taken a hard line against those that tarnish the league's image and punished players before they have been convicted of any crime. If Roethlisberger, who has been accused of sexual assault twice within the last months, is charged in the coming days or weeks in Georgia, he will be staring down the barrel of a league suspension and possibly a lengthy one. Roger looks at this kind of stuff (and everything else for that matter) as a business issue - having an employee on trial for sexual assault looks bad for the company whether he's found guilty or not.
He should be suspended if he is charged let alone convicted. This is the 2nd time the dude has been accused in less than a year. Not accused of anything small...but SEXUAL BUTTAULT. Plus he was drinking and hanging with underaged girls...i mean come on how stupid can he be! (I also hate the Steelers with every bone in my body...so wouldn't mind seeing Ben suspended...haha)
ointlaugh: And Squibby girl wasn't underage she was just underage drinking cause was 20, i am not sure if they have said that they found alcohol in her system or for that matter i don't think they tested Ben's sobriety but that would just fall on the Club not Ben. Although if they do find Ben's love Juice on the chick now that would be a total different story. And i wouldn't mind seeing Ben suspended after all he is testing the NFL's Players conduct and you know that Goodell protects the shield over any franchise
I for one am getting tired of hearing these accusations also. I'm a Steeler fan before a Ben fan. I pray that he stops hanging in places that'll get him in trouble and finds himself a good woman and settles down. Hope hanging at clubs and having some beers is worth his NFL career cause he seems to be testing that market.
Well...I'm with the majority, I guess...innocent until proven guilty, and he should be suspended if found guilty....however, with this being the second time he's being accused, it really makes me wonder just what kind of person he is. I know a Steeler fan...he moved here last year from Pittsburgh...and he's met Ben in person, and he can't stand him...he said he's an arrogant butthole.
Suspend him if charged, Goodell's done it to everyone else, and only one has been as high-profile as Ben.....but he didn't have 2 SB rings.
oh hes a pr**k, i know someone who had classes with him at miami, but im a fan of him winning, not tryin to make him my bff
