Running backs Carey Davis and rookie Isaac Redman, linebacker Bruce Davis and veteran cornerback Anthony Madison were among the players cut today by Coach Mike Tomlin as the Steelers began reducing their roster to the 53-man limit. Also among the 22 players who were waived is former Penn State center A.Q. Shipley, a Moon High School graduate and one of the team's seventh-round draft choices. Shipely said he was told the Steelers will try to sign him to the practice squad if he clears waivers. Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Didn't think they's cut Carey Davis. Sonny Harris too. Thank goodness they got rid of Bruce Davis... Summers made the cut over Carey Davis...really?
now were stuck with piece of crap summers, whos just like carey davis just not as good on special teams
Glad McDonald made it, figured he would.. Should have kept Redman over Davis and summers and kept working Johnson out at FB a bit.
I hope Redman goes to practice squad, looking forward to seeing him some more next pre-season if he does.
I know...I would link him the same way, however, he's been practicing with the receivers in camp and that was were he was lined up last night...he's listed on the roster as a RB... Bottom line is he won't really see time at either...he'll return and unless it's an in game emergency, they'll most likely sign a replacement if there's an injury.
