The Pittsburgh Steelers have released offensive tackle Flozell Adams, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. After losing starting right tackle Willie Colon to an Achilles injury during last year's OTAs, the Steelers signed the former Dallas Cowboy to a two-year, $7.25 million contract last July. Adams earned $2.5 million in base salary while starting 19 regular and post-season games, but with the return of Colon on a five-year, $29 million contract extension, and the arrival of second-round offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert, Adams may not have a starting opportunity to justify his $5 million base salary in 2011. There was no signing bonus in Adams' deal, so his release will clear $5 million from their salary cap. Source: macsfootballblog
flo was cut cause he wouldnt take a paycut :-( come one flo play for what you did last year. or put that money towards gaither
Flozell was brilliant last year, but realistically he needs to take a paycut with Colon being re-signed.
inked with oakland after i posted that really they need to bring either flo or starks back at a discount. colon and flo would make for an epic right ride....scott and kemo would make for an atrocious left side....like bad as when hartwig and stapleton were on the interior
Flozell proof of the lack of discipline inside the Cowboys camp. He didn't do none of that dumb crap he did in Dallas, once he got to Pittsburgh.
