Matt Spaeth is a lot more confident, and not just because the second-year tight end has a better grasp of the Steelers' playbook. At this time last year, Spaeth was not only learning a new offense, he also was trying to regain the strength he had lost after undergoing reconstructive shoulder surgery after his senior season at the University of Minnesota. "This is probably the best I've felt in a long time," Spaeth said Tuesday after a Steelers' OTA practice at their South Side facility. Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
we run a ton of 2-3 TE sets, spaeth is enormous at 6-7 and hes a great redzone threat, miller wont scare anyone with his speed but hes a awesome route runner and dictacts alot of coverage which could lead to spaeth having a solid, not exactly awesome year
Spaeth was good when he got in the games last year. He had 5 catches last season...3 for TD's. He's a great possession TE. He won't stretch the field, but has nice hads and a huge frame. He can block a little bit too. He could have a real good year if Miller were to get injured.
he was actually a mauling blocker in college and did a really nice job last year, i think he has a breakout year in terms of people knowing his name lol
Under the old Steeler program, they'd have him packed with 50#'s of additional muscle by now, with nuts the size of peas.
Short term memory loss? Sign of too many drugs. Kind of the same reason ex Steelers players can't remember how to tie their shoes.
at least they were big and strong... steriods=quality televison if we could pack 50 pounds on him we could move him to tackle....just the thought excites me lol
