Steelers WR Mike Wallace said in an interview with CBSSports.com on Wednesday that he's excited for a bigger role in 2010 and has "big shoes to fill" in replacing Santonio Holmes as a starter after Holmes was traded to the Jets. As a rookie in 2009, Wallace was the No. 3 WR for the Steelers behind Hines Ward and Holmes and caught 39 passes for a NFL-high 19.4-yard average and six touchdowns, but he's looking for more this year. "Last year was a good year for me," Wallace said. "But my rookie year was just the beginning. I have a bigger role this year, and I'm excited about it. I'm just going to try not to screw things up." This year, Wallace will enter the starting lineup, and he's hoping to make the Pro Bowl. "I'm still going to surprise people this year, but I plan to come out of the gates fast," he said. "I'm going to make plays."
