The Dallas Cowboys' confidence in quarterback Tony Romo remains high, even as he leads the NFL with 13 interceptions and with his team's record at 3-4. Cowboys COO Stephen Jones reiterated his trust and faith in Romo, during Thursday's practice, after the quarterback's rollercoaster near-comeback against the New York Giants on Sunday. He believes his quarterback will continue to improve and stated that there are many reasons, besides Romo, for the turnover issues. Asked about his confidence level in Romo, Jones said, it's "high." "We have a lot of confidence in Tony," Jones said. "That game is a perfect example. There's a lot of quarterbacks that would've had a hard time rallying from that type of adversity. Gotta give him a lot of credit. I think he's going to get better. There's a lot of quarterbacks that it doesn't happen right away for them in terms of winning championships and that type of thing. You don't have to look any further than the Hall of Famers, (John) Elway and (Brett) Favre. The (championships) came late in their careers. They had some of the same issues that Tony's had. They had some really great games and then they had some tough ones in terms of turning it over and that type of thing. So, we got a lot of confidence in Tony. Tony has a lot of confidence in himself. And he's going to be fine." Through seven games, Romo already has more interceptions that he had in 16 games in 2011 and his passer rating of 78.8 is on pace to be a career-low. "He's not the problem," said Jones, who believes Romo is still the team's future at the position. "He'll thrive." Source: NFL.com
Romo is not the problem It's all of the defensive players catching his interceptions that's the problem Sent from my HTC Vivid
Although I do enjoy his crap season far too much, it's only been what - 7 or 8 games? The guy has a career QB rating around 95. I'm hoping this is the start of his career nosedive, but I'm guessing it's just a crap streak. Happens to the best of them.
why does he get so many chances. he has proven that he is a good qb but not one that you can expect to go out and win a game by himself. Am I right? I am not a huge Boy's fan and don't really watch them enough to make an informed opinion. Just going off what I have seen. He makes a few good plays but when the game is on the line he gets a huge brain fart.
No, the problem is Romo is playing like crap. Just because a couple other guys are playing like crap doesn't excuse Romo Sent from my HTC Vivid
I've never seen a guy have more excuses made for him by fans and his team. I just don't understand it. He hasn't done crap for the cowboys yet their fans refuse to see him for what he is. I've just never seen anything like it.
You've clearly never heard of Alex D. Smith or the 49ers fanbase, then. http://gridironfans.com/forums/gene.../199442-jay-cutler-alex-smith-who-better.html
so says the guy supporting the leagues posterboy, who by the way hasnt won a freaking thing since they where busted cheating
That's easy to say when your QB is Tom Brady. As for Romo.. I still think he is a good QB, I just believe the offense as a whole is not running on all cylinders. I have my doubts about weather or not he will take us to a SB. For right now he gives us the best chance to win. So us (true) fans have to stick by him and painfully support his dumb mistakes. .02
