Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith called WFNZ radio host Frank Garcia and clarified comments that were picked up by a microphone he was wearing for FOX's coverage of the game last week against the Eagles. Smith was heard telling Jake that he isn’t a good looking guy and that he doesn’t like him as a quarterback but likes him as a person. Smith said, "I am not friends with #17, I am friends with Jake Delhomme and I think that is the most important thing that I wanted to get the message out to. It wasn’t that I was taking a slight at him, I was actually trying to make him laugh. At the end of the day 15 years from now, there’s going to be another #17 and another #89 in that jersey.
