Kelley Washington was at the Baltimore Ravens' training facility the day the man with the Velcro helmet walked in. This could have been an awkward moment. After all, Washington was standing on the New England sideline two years ago, the night that man, David Tyree, wedged the football against his helmet to extend the New York Giants' winning drive in Super Bowl XLII and ruin the Patriots' bid for a perfect season. "But he was so humble about it," Washington said. "I wanted to personally meet the man who made that catch, and we talked about everything that happened at the Super Bowl. I didn't know what type of man he actually is. He believes that catch was part of his destiny, part of God's plan for him." Tyree never played another game for the Giants. He has not made a catch since The Catch, either and there is no telling when he will make another.

  2. Glad to see Tyree latch onto another team and back in the playoffs.

If he never makes another catch in the NFL again, having The Helmet Catch as your last is not too shabby to have on your resume.

Us Giant fans will always remember and be grateful to him for making such a stellar catch to help us slay the Patriots and capture our third Super Bowl Title.
