Suspended Washington Redskins free safety Tanard Jackson became eligible to apply for reinstatement on August 31 according to Zac Boyer of Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star. There is no word yet if Jackson has applied to Commissioner Roger Goodell. Jackson was suspended indefinitely on August 31 of last year for multiple violations of the league's substance-abuse policy, he was eligible to apply on the anniversary of the suspension. Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett Redskins DC Jim Haslett said in June that the team would welcome Jackson back if reinstated but no one even knows if Jackson is in football shape. Remember – Jackson, for all the hype, hasn’t played in a game in over a year, and he hasn’t been permitted to have any sort of contact with the Redskins’ coaching, athletic training or strength and conditioning staff since packing his belongings at the end of last preseason.
