Switch Pro Bowl To Mid Season?

No one watches the Pro Bowl. Why? Because the Super Bowl is over. No one cares about anything after that. The Pro Bowl is totally anti-climactic.

I propose that the Pro Bowl be moved to the middle of the season! What do you think? This way they could get a break from their regular games, have some fun, people would watch it for reasons of speculation for future games, they could still play "lightly" so as to not get hurt... I just think it would be way better.

I really wanted to see LT in the Super Bowl this year and then I didn't even get to see him in the Pro Bowl either! He's one of my favorite players ever! I'm sick of people saying he's a wimp or a baby! LT I will defend you til the bitter end!!

I think it would be a mistake. You think that no one plays in the Pro Bowl now? Try and get some of the veterans to spend their week off playing a meaningless game MID-SEASON.

    Never happen.

I think that the NFL should steal a page out of the NBA's book and have an All-Rookie game of some kind. Or have the Rookies vs. 2nd year players. All that would entail is naming an All-Rookie team. I think that could make for a really exciting football game. And the rest of Pro Bowl Weekend could be skills competitions or a flag football game with the veterans. Have the NFL show the fans that this is truly just a "for fun" type of weekend. Have like a Pro-Am flag football game where we mix in celebrities and NFL guys, just have fun with it.

Forget about the tradition of the game, no one really cares anymore. It's time to just have fun with it and celebrate the season that just ended.

Not to mention that not every teams bye week is the same week. As much as people don't care about the pro bowl with it being after the super bowl, I say keep it like it is currently now.

No team would want this. If anything, get rid of the Pro Bowl altogether. Too bad the NFL wants the money too badly to do so.

The teams won't allow the players to appear in the PB. Imagne some of the players suffer injuries in a meanigless game during the season. And like DaBears said, there will be no bye week for the players. So this idea is bad IMO

I enjoy the Pro Bowl...ever since I was younger and that is probably why I enjoy it today. But I'll admit...I'm probably the only clown watching the thing.

Mid-Season would be a horrible idea. Baseball and Basketball are understandable. Hockey there's no hitting allowed, so basically it's an exhibition practice. Maybe they can do a Mid-Season "Flag Football Game."

How about this dumb idea...Draft Hopefuls against NFL Rookies...

Could you imagine if Darren McFadden played in that game (or better yet, Reggie Bush, as a Draft Hopeful) and tore an ACL...

I'm thinking just leave it the way it is...if players want to play, great...if not, who cares...maybe the NFL can buck ($$$$$) up a little more as an incentive to play if it is that much of a worry.

All I know is Pro-Bowl voting should be out of the fans hands and should go based off of stats, also why would you opt out of the Pro-bowl if the fans voted you in and you had a non-injury reason... Way to spit in the fans face

I think that would be a great idea for them to move it to the midseason

    Isn't it:

    1/3 Fans
    1/3 Coaches
    1/3 Players/Peers

    ???

So technically, Tom Brady and Randy Moss spit on a lot of people...:icon_wink:

mmm - bad idea to move it to mid season.

I don't know what the issue was with Moss not attending, but I know that both Favre and Brady, and some of the others that did not attend were due to injuries.

  14. 86WARD

    86WARD -

Moss was just sad - his "feelings" were "hurt."

    Brady's "ankle" was "hurt."

Yeah, Maybe LT Can break his leg in the mid season pro bowl, and ruin the chargers season all together.. Then you can defend him while he stands on the sideline, on crutches.....

That's the most horrible Idea ever.

Me, apparently unlike the rest of the world.. Watches the Pro-Bowl.

Why not move it to the week before the SB ?
Without the two team's players of course.

The football atmosphere is still up that keep the climax for the big game.

No, simply keep like it is now. Or bash it
