Arkansas-Pine Bluff tackle Terron Armstead, who is 6 feet 5 and 306 pounds, ran a time of 4.71 seconds – a new combine record. Shortly after, Oklahoma tackle Lane Johnson ran a time of 4.72 seconds. Those times go down as the two fastest 40-yard-dash times by offensive linemen at the combine. Armstead’s unofficial time was announced at 4.65 which according to NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock, is the equivalent of a skill player position such as a running back or wide receiver running a 4.1-second 40-yard dash. Originally projected as a third-round pick, Armstead likely upped his stock with that time, as well as his performance of 31 reps in the bench press. Source: Washington Post
