The Saints and Reggie Bush's representatives will open talks about his contract situation in earnest when a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is in place, we hear. It's expected that Bush will need to take a substantial pay cut from the $11.8 million he's due to make in 2011 to stay with the team. We're told both sides want to work out a deal to keep Bush in New Orleans, and Bush has said he's open to returning at a lower salary, but it's still not known how much the Saints are willing to offer him. We're hearing there's a good chance the team will present him with a deal that would lock him up for a few more seasons and include a base salary close to the $2-$3 million range. Bush comes with durability concerns, as he's missed 20 games over the past four seasons due to injury, and will be a change-of-pace back, splitting carries with Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory, if he returns.
