The New York Giants let go of injured tight end Jake Ballard on Monday. The team against which he tore his ACL in Super Bowl XLVI – the New England Patriots -- claimed him off waivers on Tuesday. The Patriots' move to nab Ballard in 2012 spoils the Giants' plans of having him clear waivers, putting him on injured reserve and having him back in the fold for '13. The 24-year-old had microfracture surgery just two months ago, which made it a long shot for him to play at all this season. Jake Ballard has landed with the New England Patriots, one day after being released by the New York Giants. (AP Photo)Ballard's agent, Blake Baratz, proudly announced his client's acquisition via Twitter (@the_ifa): "As I stated yesterday a "smart" football organization might claim @NYG_J_Ballard85 while he's hurt to own his rights. He's now a Patriot!"

TE will be WR, WR will be CB. You laugh, but it's been done by Belichick before!
