The New York Giants let go of injured tight end Jake Ballard on Monday. The team against which he tore his ACL in Super Bowl XLVI – the New England Patriots -- claimed him off waivers on Tuesday. The Patriots' move to nab Ballard in 2012 spoils the Giants' plans of having him clear waivers, putting him on injured reserve and having him back in the fold for '13. The 24-year-old had microfracture surgery just two months ago, which made it a long shot for him to play at all this season. He's now a Patriot!" Source: Sporting News
