Mike Holmgren is going to Cleveland strictly in a managerial capacity. The AP and the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reported that Holmgren, who accepted a role as the Browns' team president on Monday, will not add coaching duties to his job description. That does not mean that current coach Eric Mangini's job is necessarily safe as Holmgren told a Seattle radio station last week that it's too early to judge Mangini. "I think he's a good coach," Holmgren said. "He's a bright guy. He works very, very hard at his job and we have to see." Source: USA Today
good .............. as each year goes by and i see more and more coaches with too many front office responsibilities having less success on the field, i begin thinking that (smart) organizations are probably going to put an end to the coach/gm situations .............
The parity in the NFL is leaving because of all the recycled teams are not sticken to one philosophy. The Browns just might come out of that now.
