Over 25 million viewers watched the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday evening on ESPN and NFL Network, according to The Nielson Company. The two networks had a combined average rating of 5.28, the highest ever for the draft and an 18 percent increase from the first round last year, which posted a 4.66 average rating. The league announced that the two-network average of 8.1 million viewers is up 16 percent from last year.
