Hey guys, I new here, and I'm just wondering what you guys have to say about your favorite teams best players. I've been a Titans fan for a long time, and for the last few years I've really only talked amongst other Titan fans about the NFL. I do have friends of other teams, but they always sleep on my teams players, so when I talk up some of my favorite/best players on the Titans, they're always looking at me with no clue since not so many people follow the Titans how I do. I was hoping you guys of other teams could enlighten me on some of your teams best players. I like to believe I know most everything there is to know about the NFL, but every year there's that player on some team somewhere who takes over the NFL. Last year it was Victor Cruz of the Giants, the year before that it was Arian Foster of the Texans, in 2009 it was Chris Johnson of the Titans (but I saw that one coming) :coolgleamA:. Point is, I nor anyone really saw those guys setting the league on fire when they did. I'd just like to go into the 2012 with more knowledge than I have today. I'm also looking for some hidden gems for my fantasy football team I'll be drafting shortly.
My Favorite team is the Saints. Best Player: Drew Brees There are some hidden gems. Lance Moore is underrated as a slot WR. But, with Brees passing the ball, who isn't underrated? Sproles is obviously one of our best offensive weapons, as well as Jimmy Graham. If he stays healthy and gets the time, I think Ingram can emerge as a really good running back.
The Titans have a lot of players with question marks. But many of them have HUGE upside. TE Jared Cook for instance is as athletic as any TE could be, but he's inconsistent like a mother F-er on an offense who's QB read's outside-in (WR's 1st read). Since Matt Hasselbecks arrival in TN, the Titans TE's have had less opportunities to shine, however major gains of 80-yards, and 58-yards suggest otherwise, but trust me, they're no longer a focal point. Years ago with Vince Young and Kerry Collins our TE's were very involved, now the juries still out on if you can count on any of the three we have. WR Kenny Britt is a monster when healthy. Against the Eagles two years ago he had 7 catches for 225-yards and 3 TD's, but tons of injuries have limited his availability, making him a huge question mark for Titan fans, and fantasy owners. Before ripping his ACL and MCL last year Kenny put up 136-yards vs the Jaguars week-1, following that up with 135-yards the following week before being placed on injured reserve for the year. Buyer beware with that kid. As for our backfield we have the old veteran Matt Hasselbeck at QB and Chris Johnson at RB. Last year Hasselbeck started the season on fire but later (November) tanked and held the offense back. When Hasselbeck played poorly Chris Johnson stepped up, but that was only here and there since our run blocking was an absolute joke last year. We also have 2nd year QB Jake Locker waiting for his turn to run the offense. In limited action last season Locker dazzled Titan fans. Saints and Falcon fans may know what I'm talking about. However, no one knows if he's ready. This is why I can't wait for training camp to start. Locker may be the next Aaron Rodgers (fingers crossed).
Steelers. Roethlisberger, Wallace, Pouncey, Brown, Miller, Harrison, Polamalu, Taylor. Possible sleepers...Emmanuel Sanders, Isaac Redman. Worst player: Shaun Suisham.
It was past due. He was pretty much gone last season with the exception of a couple games here and there. He was definitely the 5th best WR on that team behind Wallace, Brown, Sanders, Cotchery. Love the guy, but it was time...probably a year too late. Liked having him there for the younger guys though... I know how you feel...I felt the same when Eddie George left...lol.
Eddie George, man I miss those days. Now our RB is more interested in looking like a circus act with his "swaggie" LOL but hey, he is THE rock paper scissor Champlain.
Keep an eye on Kendall Hunter and Lamichael James. Gore is in decline and not that great at staying healthy even in his prime...he's going to get a lot less carries than he has in the past at minimum, if he goes down one/both of those guys will be stepping into the lead role in one of the few truly run-oriented offenses left in the league, and they both have talent coming out their ears. Hunter could be on the brink of a breakout year.
To add to the list, I love our offensive line. Got some big nasty hosses up front. Someone I like is Chris Ivory. He may be one dimensional but when he hits you, you freaking know it. Not much love for our defense but I look for a big season from Malcolm Jenkins. He is the younger brother of LeeRoy. :kewl11: Someone who is very underrated is our quiet tight end Dave Thomas.
Sadly i have to agree with you. I love Gore but he is going to be as affective as LT was with the jets. 9ers n lakers on my razr maxx(tapralk)
LT was clutch for the Jets though. 3rd & anything hand the ball to LT for a 1st down. I was surprised he retired.
And gore will be the same. He just cant be the workhorse he once was. 9ers n lakers on my razr maxx(tapralk)
Decastro will be on that top list. I could see sanders out performing brown this year, ive been pro brown over sanders all along but sanders might be in for a breakout year. worst player is jonathan scott
I agree, Dave Thomas for the Saints is quiet, and a weapon. He's hiddn because of Jimmy Graham - who wouldn't be hidden behind that beast? Out O-Line can definitely be a huge asset if they stay healthy. The loss of Nicks was huge, but the addition of Grubbs helps. Defensively, Jenkins should have a big year. Breakout season perhaps.
Ravens Im gonna steal 86WARD format Haloti Ngata, Terrell Suggs, Ray Rice, Ray Lewis, Ladarius Webb, Marshall Yanda, Ed Reed Sleepers...Joe Flacco-more freedom and improved fundamentals...Torrey Smith-spent alot of time this offseason on route running, spent some time with Derrick Mason... Jimmy Smith-experience...Dennis Pitta-great hands, savvy, chain mover Oh and for worst player i can still say Lee Evans right? I feel like that should be allowed considering lol
Nope, can't give you Lee Evans anymore. He's with the Jaguars now: http://gridironfans.com/forums/late...gn-wr-lee-evans-one-year.html?highlight=evans
Just watched Farve's and Warners' retirement games. Big factor of the wins was the play of Dave Thomas. He will never be double teamed and he catches the ball and blocks very well. That line should gell quickly and be their typical selves. Can't wait. 50 days!!!!!
