Twitter mistakes are becoming more and more common these days and this can be tricky. Houston Texans reserve tackle Rashad Butler ventured down the same path Thursday night as he watched the Heat-Knicks game. Butler made a crack about Kobe Bryant and referred to the Lakers star as No. 8. Of course, testy Lakers fans quickly responded with corrections because Bryant changed to No. 24 a couple years ago. Butler shot back, but in his effort to call the critics jerks, he used a word that is considered to be a gay slur. “Like I said, Y’all F—— knew wat I meant,†he wrote in a tweet that has since been removed. I dont see why anyone would be offended by this. Its a common word with a mundane meaning, this is pathetic. PA-THET-IC.
People forget that players are just people too. Eventually, once enough of this happens, a lot of players and celebrities as a whole are going to shy away from twitter..because why have one if you can't be yourself. Frankly, everyone needs quit being whiney about such things. The other side of it, of course, is it's really easy to avoid making such mistakes by simply thinking before you click "tweet." But.. why should they have to?
when "selling a brand" is part of what pays your paycheck you lose the ability to call people whiney happys in a public forum.
Okay honestly. How ignorant can you really be? Chink in the Armor is an ACTUAL PHRASE that people use COMMONLY. f*g unless you are BRITISH is a DEROGATORY TERM used to insult the gay community. If someone had written an article with the title a bundle of fags it would not be offensive because that simply means a bundle of cigarettes as chink in the armor should not be offensive since it does not mean CHINESE IN THE ARMOR. Now if the anchor said MAN JEREMY LIN IS A CHINK that would be offensive. And if this doesn't make sense to you, you are simply being ignorant for the sake of being ignorant. CONTEXT its all about CONTEXT, for christ sake.

Come on dragonite. Chink is a slur towarda Asian people the same as the n word is to African Americans. The writer clearly only used the phrase because of that word. You can't honestly think it's just a coincidence that phrase was used. It was chosen specifically because of the Asian involvement on the story.
