Texans Rookie CB Kareem Jackson Likely To Contiune To Start

  1. From the day the Texans drafted him in Round One, rookie Kareem Jackson was ticketed to start at cornerback. Committing to young corners has worked before for Houston — Dunta Robinson was PFW/PFWA Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2004, and current LCB Glover Quin was a revelation last season — but the Texans have yet to see the payoff with Jackson. He's been targeted by opposing offenses and has been beaten numerous times, in various ways, with no single coverage flaw standing out above the others, according to a daily team observer. However, Jackson is likely to continue to start at right cornerback unless he loses confidence, the way Pro Football Weekly hears it. When asked, leading up to Week Six, about having to deal with setbacks of growing as an NFL player, Jackson said: "It's not hard at all. I'm able to take it and go on and go to work every day."
