The Texans worked out five linebackers on Tuesday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. That includes former Miami Dolphins linebackers Erik Walden and Chris McCoy as well as Donovan Woods, Quinton Culbertson and Stanford Kegler. The Texans also worked out wide receivers Paul Williams and Mike Jones. The Texans wound up signing none of the players who tried out, but did re-sign sixth-round rookie offensive guard Shelley Smith to the practice squad. Smith was cut over the weekend.
