Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will not be suspended for his brawl with Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan on Sunday, Mark Berman of FOX-26 in Houston reports. Johnson, who became the first receiver in NFL history to catch 60+ passes in each of his first eight seasons on Sunday, will be fined for throwing punches at Finnegan, who had aggressively jammed Johnson in the facemask in the second half of Houston's 20-0 win over the Titans. Both players were ejected from the game. Finnegan allegedly told the Texans' sideline to "watch this" before going after Johnson. Despite the play being a premeditated incident on Finnegan's part, and despite Finnegan's repeated fines from earlier this season, Gregg Rosenthal of NBCSports.com is hearing that Finnegan won't face a suspension, either. I think he meant in part that Finnegan has a little reputation of being a dirty player while Johnson is one of the nicer guys in the league.
I just read about how Kubiak gave him a game ball yesterday. Texans' coach gives Andre Johnson a game ball despite ejection - Shutdown Corner - NFL - Yahoo! Sports 8 consecutive 60 catch seasons
It's all perspective. It's not like Johnson had the wrong color shoes on or something that serious. :icon_cheesygrin:
